Another 1968 Photo

Here is another photo taken about June 1968.

Can anyone identify the area.

I think that the large building on the left side of the photograph could be the American Embassy.

What's your guess?

I think the billboard of the left building is shown as Shinkong Insurance, also the railroad locomotive and the billboard shown as Armed Forces Cultural Center on the right top of the building, maybe it's Chung-Hua Road?

It's the Hagglers Row(中華商場) on Chung-Hua Rd. in the Shimending area in Taipei. FYI.

Yep, it looks like the north end of the Chung Hua Market, the three-story shops in Hsimenting. The U.S. Embassy would have been to the right rear of the photographer.

No question it is the Hsimenting area to the immediate south and west of main Taipei railway station. The train pictured in the photo is northbound and will soon arrive into Taipei station as the building is behind the train. The tracks were to the west of the buildings.

The building in the back ground was just opposite the Shin Sheng theatre. So it's the junction of what I think is Chung Du (?) road where the MRT station is.

Anyway, it's unrecognisable today when compared to this photo.
