I received this envelope from Jim Nelson. Jim's large collection of photographs of aircraft and buildings on Tainan AB and the surrounding area were recently posted to this blog.
.
I guess you could say the Army and Air Force Postal Service did their job.
.
Jim received his mail, but had it not found him when it did, I wonder what would have happened had he moved on to other bases? Do one of you postal folks remember the procedures when an envelope had no space for a forwarding address?
.
Interesting piece of history. Jim's job with his SCARWAF unit took him to many short assignments in Japan, Korea and Taiwan during his tour in the Far East in the late 1950's.
